Betty and
Gregg moved to Western North Carolina (WNC) in 1974 from
Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Their decision to move to the
mountains and NC was to live in and create a better
environment for themselves and their daughter. Prior to
Moving to Columbia in October 2001, they resided in
different communities in and around the Asheville area. They
chose this Inner Banks town after falling in love with the
land, the water, the community, and the eco-friendly tourism
climate. This fulfilled their many requirements for
establishing their new live/work situation.

During Betty's
29 year career in interior and architectural design she has
upgraded, redesigned, remodeled and created luxury interiors
and new living spaces for thousands of clients. To date,
Betty has been architect, general contractor, designer and
decorator for three of her own homes as well as for several
clients. The designs for the B&B and cottages (cottages
sold in 2005 ), as well as the site planning were her
creation. Her focus for this project has been to include as
many "green building" elements as possible in the
construction (read the Eco-Friendly page for more detailed
info). Betty is very people-oriented and creates a friendly
relationship with everyone. She became interested in the
design field while working for a furniture company in
Florida. Her interest in Interior Design and Architecture
blossomed while partners with her mother and sister in a
drapery business for 13 years. She then owned and operated
three other successful interior design businesses and
showrooms in WNC.
Gregg has been
an Accountant for over 36 years and has worked in virtually
all segments of the business world. His most recent
corporate position was Vice President of Finance for The
Biltmore Company in Asheville, NC which is the managing
company for the Biltmore Estate and its operations. Having
worked there 17 years, he is very committed to providing
quality guest service.
